So how many of you have heard of T Levels? GCSE's (O Levels in my day!) and A Levels, yes, but maybe not T Levels.
In 2020, T Levels were introduced and this now presents a much-needed opportunity to address the engineering skills gap in the food manufacturing sector.
By providing hands-on, technical education aligned with industry needs, T Levels prepare young talent with the practical knowledge and experience vital to roles like food and drink maintenance engineering. This creates a pipeline of skilled professionals, boosting recruitment and allowing businesses to nurture future engineers through placements and apprenticeships.
So, my message to food manufacturers is to get out there, meet Year 10 students and encourage them to consider T Levels as a further education option and also promote your business to the local talent of the future.
