The Department for Education and industry leaders are stepping up efforts to attract new talent into engineering through a range of apprenticeship initiatives. With National Apprenticeship Week recently shining a spotlight on these programs, it’s great to see fresh investment in skills development—something our sector urgently needs.
Attracting new talent into engineering has always been a passion of mine.
My dad was an apprentice Engineer in the petrochemical industry, and while my own career began in Industrial Engineering within textiles, I’ve always enjoyed engaging with Engineers at all levels.
For the Food & FMCG manufacturing sector, apprenticeships can play a key role in addressing skills shortages and ensuring a pipeline of future talent.
I think they are already doing so.
Many of my clients are now much more active in recruiting apprentices.
What’s your experience with engineering apprenticeships? Have they helped your business grow?
